Start simple if you’re nervous about mixing and matching. A patterned shirt is always going to look sharp with a solid coloured bottom. And of course you can pair a solid coloured shirt with your plaid shorts. If you choose a solid colour that is within your pattern, you’ll be matching every time.

Thanks for checking us out, we can feel the love in the store! This week we thought we’d focus on chatting about something that will interest the ladies – ladies’ swimwear. The weather is ready for us in it!  However, husbands, sons, boyfriends, and friends take note for a great summer gift. 

We thought it would be best to focus on different body types because we have a great suit for all kinds of bodies.  If you’re a bit shy, or don’t love trying on swimwear our friendly and enthusiastic team will be there to help you along the way. And yes, we’ll even be honest and do what it takes to find you the right fit!

Pear: I wish they made mannequins in this shape because a lot of women are in this category, but alas you’ll have to use your imagination with the picture above! Adding detail and attention to the top helps to even out the lower half of the body. Try our suits that have rouching in the bust or bigger patterns.  If you want to be a bit more comfortable in your bottoms try out our board shorts that cover up just a little bit more than the traditional bathing suit.

Belly worries:   Find one of our suits that emphasize the smaller part of your waist.  We have two great styles that have rouching through the torso, which is always more forgiving, and they also have a detailing seam that will emphasize the curve of the waist rather than the belly.

Busty: Underwire! It’s about providing extra support for the girls.  We have a variety of straps to make sure you’re the most comfortable that you can be. For example, you can choose from halter, to strapless, to regular straps.  The cut of the bust makes sure that there is full coverage while still providing a flattering look.

Just a tad more: Our material is mostly a mix of Nylon and Lycra-Spandex and the foam in the cups is 100% polyurethane.  Make sure to hand wash or soak your suits in cold water to protect them over time.

In our upcoming posts on this blog we’ll be chatting about our newest and most loved clothing at MacD’s Lakeside.  We thought we’d start with one of Tommy Bahama’s best selling shirts (over 160,000 units sold already!), the emfielder polo.  Here’s the stuff you need to know about the emfielder so you can love it as much as we do.  Our three main reasons for loving it:  The material, the fit, and the versatility. 

The material of the shirt is a mix of 62% of the best-cotton (pima) with 38% polyester.  The high-quality fabric means you can easily machine-wash on cold and put it in the dryer on tumble dry.  Here at MacD`s we love our clothes to pieces and usually like to hang everything to dry, but with this shirt you’ve got options!

The fit on this polo marries the classic Bahama wider fit with the classic fit of the polo thus giving you the comfort in the shoulders and the torso that you love from other Tommy Bahama products but also keeping the polo appropriate for many occasions.
